Who Should Attend
This conference is designed for the interdisciplinary teams of podiatrists, physicians, nurses, physical therapists, researchers, and dietitians involved in wound healing or wound care issues.
Learning Objectives
After attending this conference, participants should be able to do the following:
• Identify common wound-related skin conditions and discuss advances in wound-related physiology, pathology, epidemiology, prevention, assessment, management, and education.
• Investigate critical elements associated with proper management of difficult-to-heal, geriatric and complex wounds, and review ongoing or recently completed clinical trials involving wound therapies.
• Review cutting edge information on the wound care treatment armamentarium including new advances and future directions in wound dressings, biomatrices and cell therapy.
• Describe the multidisciplinary approach to the prevention and treatment of limb threatening conditions related to medical and surgical management, and rehabilitation.
• Explore the realities of delivering healthcare beyond clinical issues such as psychological complications associated with wounds, litigation risks and healthcare reform.
• Examine proven and emerging scientific rationale behind core wound principles and how to translate them to clinical practice.
• Discuss latest advances in the science of wound healing and therapies, and critically assess emerging scientific mechanisms regulating wound healing outcomes.
Accreditation Information
This activity has been planned and implemented by North American Center for Continuing Medical Education, LLC (NACCME), and the Wound Healing Society (WHS) for the advancement of patient care. NACCME is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
Podiatrists: North American Center for Continuing Medical Education, LLC, is approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education as a sponsor of continuing education in podiatric medicine. This program is approved for 4 contact hours for the pre-conference, 20.75 contact hours for the main conference, and 3 contact hours for the post-conference.
Physicians: North American Center for Continuing Medical Education, LLC, designates this live activity for a maximum of 27.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Registered dietitians (RDs) and dietetic technicians, registered (DTRs) will receive 4 continuing professional education units for the pre-conference, 20.75 continuing professional education units for the main conference, and 3 continuing professional education units for the post-conference for completion of this program.

Please note the cut-off date for cancellation is March 19, 2012. All cancellations must be received in writing and postmarked by that date. Full registration (less a $75 processing fee) will be refunded only to cancellations received in writing before the above date. No refunds will be issued after March 19, 2012 – without exception.
